We stopped at Lake Rotoiti for a short hike and then headed south down the western coast to Greymouth.<\/p>\n<p>The next morning we ventured out to the pancake rocks and blowholes at Punakaiki at high tide to catch the natural water show. We then drove inland to Arthur&#8217;s Pass, but we did spend a few hours enjoying the views from the road on the coastal drive.<\/p>\n<p>We spent our last night at <a title=\"Arthur's Chalet\" href=\"http:\/\/www.arthurspass.co.nz\/\" target=\"_blank\">Arthur&#8217;s Chalet<\/a>\u00a0and enjoyed a surprisingly tasty dinner considering the rustic surroundings. The next morning we hiked two short trails around the pass and then drove back into Christchurch for a late lunch.
