The cheapest way to see art and history in any Italian city is to visit churches and cemeteries. They rarely have admission costs and are open seven days a week. During our two weeks in Milan we visited one cemetery and a bunch of churches.
We started at the Cimiterio Monumentale near the train station where we’d eventually leave Milan for Lyon, France.
I love visiting cemeteries and churches! You always find the most interesting bits of history and human stories.
