Our apartment in Anzère was on a slope with a nice view of the Rhône river valley in the Swiss canton of Valais. Despite being in a ski resort town in the dead of summer, we found plenty to see and do in the area besides hike.

Some of the noisier entertainment even came right down the street for us, as the town plays host to an annual hill climb motor race.
