Our first day trip out of Bend was directly south to Crater Lake National Park. Created by the collapse of a large volcano some 7,000 years ago, the lake is the deepest in the United States.
We spent a few hours driving clockwise around the lake, stopping at a few places for a hike or to pause at a viewpoint.
A place we’ve always wanted to visit, the clear day provided us with spectacular views of this natural wonder.
