Punta Culebra and the Panama Canal

On Saturday the 12th we did a day tour through part of the city near the cruise ship terminal where the Smithsonian manages a wildlife reserve. The area was once a military installation, and was also home to Manuel Noriega’s private clubhouse and bar. The building used by Noriega and his cronies now contains fish tanks that display the different types of fish found within the different shorelines of Panama.

After we left the preserve, we headed to the Panama Canal to see our trip’s first Wonder of the Modern World.
