Jatiluwih and Tanah Lot

On the afternoon of our second road trip we did a short hike to a waterfall, we saw some rice terraces, and we finished at one of Bali’s best known temples.

There are several areas in Bali where rice is grown on man-made terraces, but our driver took us to see the ones in Jatiluwih. They were stunning. We stood and stared for a while and took too many photos.

We finished the day at the most popular temple for tourists in Bali, the beachfront Tanah Lot. The temple complex was nice, but the crowds were large and there’s a big tourist trap shopping center conveniently placed between the parking lot and the beach.

Our last big day out in Bali was a memorable one. Here’s what we saw as we finished our time in Indonesia.
