Tour de France, Stage 13

For our second day following the Tour, we took the train south to the village of Saint Clair du Rhône. We arrived early enough to see the promotional caravan, where the tour’s major sponsors drive parade floats over the route of the stage while throwing trinkets to the waiting crowds.

Most of the freebies were keychains, although there were a few product samples, refrigerator magnets, and the occasional coupon booklet.

After the caravan the riders passed, but instead of taking pictures I watched the 90-second event with my own eyes. We then wandered the area for a bit before catching a train back to Lyon.
