Wine, a castle, and some caves

For Saturday we booked a guided wine tour out to the Vipava Valley. Our guide Tina took us to two small, family-owned wineries.

On Sunday we drove our rental car first to Predjama Castle and then to Skocjan Caves. The castle itself is built into cave, so the theme of the day was caves.

At Skocjan we toured the colossal cave system, which includes one of the largest underground canyons in the world. It was certainly impressive. Unfortunately, photography is not allowed on the tour, but even if it were there is no way I could have captured the size of the canyon or the other massive rooms with my camera. But I was able to take a few pictures of the final parts of the cave system that are not fully underground.
